May 2008: The Arizona Board of Regents have approved the new B.S. in Geography. This new undergraduate program will commence in fall 2008 and focuses on the environment and geotechnology.

April 2008: Congratulations goes to three GRD graduate students who recently won major grants for their dissertation research: Jennifer Rice (Udall Fellowship and PEO scholar award), Kristina Monroe Bishop (NSF DDRI), and Robin Lewis (Fulbright).

April 2008: Congratulations to Dereka Rushbrook who won the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences 2007-08 Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching!
