Water Research: Learn more about SGD's burgeoning research area in Water Resources and Policy.

Professional Development Worskhops: Designed to help SGD graduate students succeed in meeting day-to-day and future career challenges, these drop-in workshops meet alternate Fridays from 1-3 pm. Visit the Professional Development web page for more information.

Fall 2009 Speaker Series: Join us for SGD's 2009-2010 Speaker Series Fridays, from 3:30 to 4:45 in Harvill 404, with coffee, tea, and snacks starting at 3 pm.

July 2009: Welcome to the new School of Geography and Development (SGD)!. The School was officially established July 1, 2009 as part of the UA Transformation Process. As outlined in the proposal for the new school, SGD will build on key spatial analytic tools to address spatial problems found in sustainable development, urban development, international development, and public participation.

Undergraduate Awards: Congratulations to our extremely impressive group of undergraduates who will be recognized at the department's graduation celebration (Friday, May 15, 2009 at 9:30 am in Harvill 400): James Castaneda, Rory Isbell, James Dickhoner, Emily Sanschagrin, Jimmy Mack, Billy Jarnagin, Laura Tellechea, Ashley Emerole, and John Holden.
