Research

My research project aims to analyze the spatio-functional patterns of industrial estates situated in the Punjab province (Pakistan). The emphasis will be on where and why changes in location of industrial estates of the Punjab have taken place and why some areas experience industrial growth and other areas faced industrial decline with reference to the industrial estates. The changes in spatial patterns of industrial estates of the Punjab will be measured by increase or decrease in employment opportunities due to development of industrial estates, which is an appropriate measure to use the functional analysis of these estates will be examined in this research work. Estates will be compared to assess their performance in terms of production and economic development. This research also aims to discuss the role of industrial estates in introducing new technologies and their role in national and regional development. My research project is sponsored by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
